The Commonwealth of Dominica is a Caribbean republic with a parliamentary democracy. The capital city is Roseau and the population is approximately 73,500. Dominica’s official language is English, although French Patois is also spoken. The local currency is the East Caribbean dollar, which is pegged to the United States dollar.
Dominica is known as the “Nature Island of the Caribbean” due to its wide variety of flora and fauna and extensive natural park system, boasting a remarkably unspoiled natural beauty. Emerald green mountainsides cascade down to the mild Caribbean Sea and are speckled with coconut trees, banana plantations, and bright tropical flowers. Dominica is home to the world’s second largest thermally active lake, and offers hot and cold sulphur springs with healing properties. Our island is also home to one of the Caribbean’s highest peaks, namely Morne Diablotins, which stands at 1,447m high. The climate is tropical and our terrain rugged, and much of our island is covered in rainforest. There are many waterfalls and lakes, and 365 rivers. Unsurprisingly, Dominica is a popular location for hiking, scuba diving, and whale watching.
Introduced in 1993 by the Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica, our Citizenship by Investment Programme is one of the longest-running economic citizenship programmes in the world. The Citizenship by Investment Unit (CBIU) is the Government authority that deals with all matters regarding citizenship by investment in the Commonwealth of Dominica. CBIU allows you and your family to obtain full legal citizenship and passports when you make a significant investment in Dominica which qualifies under the Citizenship by Investment Regulations.
